Children, Youth & Family Ministries

We are a church that loves and welcomes children of all ages. We strive to provide a safe, fun, and educational environment to keep kids engaged and wanting to come back each week! We offer something for kids of all ages.

Meets Sundays during worship
After the children’s message, the group heads to the outdoor chapel/playground or fellowship hall, depending on weather, for play-time, Bible stories, songs and more.
Coordinator: Nancy Gorman

Meets Sundays after worship
Children will grow in their relationship with Christ through an interactive, hands-on Bible lesson. We promote different learning styles, from crafts to games to science experiments and drama- all to reinforce the theme of the week.
Coordinator: Robin Lee

We believe the foundations of faith begin with the family. We strive to support these faith foundations through our Family Activities. These year-round events include educational, fellowship and mission-oriented opportunities for children and their families.
Coordinator: Kim Wilhelm

Twice a year, participants ages 5-18 learn to act, sing, and do choreography while learning about God and His promises. Summer Drama Camp is held the first week in August, and the Christmas Musical rehearsals begin in late October. Volunteers are always needed to support these joyful and spiritual events.
Coordinator: Bonnie Kegan

Sundays during worship
The nursery is staffed by professional and volunteer caregivers who welcome and care for our infants and toddlers so that parents can relax, focus, and enjoy the adult service. An age-appropriate Bible lesson will be introduced to the 3’s, along with a simple craft.

The Gathering Youth Group meets for Sunday School after church in the youth room. We also meet monthly (days vary) at Panera Bread for fellowship time in addition to participating in annual retreats. We encourage youth to cultivate authentic relationships with God, each other, and their global community. Our vision is that all youth will be equipped to embark on a lifelong journey of faith in Jesus Christ. All Youth are always welcome to join us, friends included! For scheduling updates, please follow us on Facebook at Community UMC Youth.
