Beginning Again

These are difficult times for many of our United Methodist brothers and sisters. A handful of churches in the Baltimore-Washington Conference have requested to disaffiliate from The United Methodist Church; a few others are in the process of inquiry; and another small group have sued the BWC seeking to leave the denomination without paying the costs associated with that move.

In all of these churches, there are people who want to remain United Methodist. For everyone involved, there is a sense of loss, pain, and grief.

Community UMC is committed to staying United Methodist. We are also committed to welcoming ALL of God’s children to our fellowship, worship, prayer, and study. If you are — or know someone who is — feeling the pain of separation as their church separates, we offer this resource as a way of saying you are not alone, and that we care.

We love you. We care about you. We’re here for you.
