New Worship Series: The God We Can Know

Lent, the forty days (not including Sundays) prior to Easter, is a season of examination and formation, to prepare for the awesome events of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. It’s a great time to make a deeper commitment to grow in faith and love for Jesus and the amazing sacrificial love he showed all of humanity. How well do you know and love Jesus? How have you experienced his love? In this season of Lent, we’ll be exploring Rob Fuquay book, The God We Can Know – Exploring the “I Am” Sayings of Jesus.

Getting to know God means getting to know ourselves. The more we know who God is the more we know who we are. The Gospel of John records several declarations of Jesus known as the “I Am” statements. As Jesus reveals who is, he reveals who God, His Father is; and as God is revealed, we discover who we are! This Lenten series will begin March 10 and last seven weeks when we celebrate Easter. My prayer is that we would discover how wide and deep, how high and long is God’s marvelous love for us, as revealed in Jesus Christ. Let’s go deeper together this Lent. Here’s the lineup . . .

March 10 – Knowing the Great “I AM”
March 17 – “I Am the Bread of Life”: Knowing God’s Satisfaction
March 24 – “I Am the Light of the World”: Knowing God’s Guidance
March 31 – “I Am the Good Shepherd”: Knowing God’s Care
April 7 – “I Am the True Vine”: Knowing God’s Power
April 14 – “I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”: Knowing God’s Way
April 21 – “I Am the Resurrection and the Life”: Knowing God’s Possibilities

Beginning in March, we will also be facilitating a church-wide small group study of the book The God We Can Know. Sign up online to connect into a group!
