Hello Church Family,
Wow, what a celebration the church just shared for our 50th Anniversary! We have so much to celebrate as we look back at where the church started, all the people that it has reached over the years, and where we feel God is leading Community in the future.
As we anticipate the upcoming time of Thanksgiving, some of you may be wondering if we are having a Generosity Campaign in 2023. After consideration and discussion with the Finance Team, and with the anniversary and so much else going on during the same time we normally do a stewardship effort, we felt it best to push the effort into the beginning of the new year so that we could give it the time and importance that it deserves. Please look for emails in early 2024 related to generosity, blessings, and gratitude.
That being said, the commitments that you made last year and your continued efforts to fulfill them have not gone unnoticed. We are grateful to you all for the time, talents, and gifts you have used to support Community UMC during 2023 and we hope that you are able to continue these same efforts at least until our next Generosity Campaign in early 2024. If you have fallen a little behind, no worries; there is plenty of time to catch up before the end of the year. Additionally, if other things have changed throughout the course of the year and you are not sure if you are going to be able to meet that commitment you made, please pray and determine what God is calling you to do for the rest of the year, and do what you can. Likewise, if you have fulfilled the commitment you made last year and feel the urge to do more, the end of the year is a time for giving for many, so please feel free to make an additional year-end contribution.
In 2024, we are planning some upgrades to the sanctuary and anticipate the expansion of new programs led by our Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry, Courtney Bundy, and we look to you as we continue to reach people in the local and global communities to keep Community UMC going strong for another 50 years.
On behalf of a grateful Finance and Stewardship Team, and a very grateful Pastor Erik, thank you for your continued support of Community United Methodist Church.
