New Worship Series: A Spending Change

Do you feel the tension?  The tension between a broken and hurting world and  the vision God has for humanity?  The tension between the glory, power and growth in the early church and the floundering churches in 21st century America?  The tension in your own soul over Jesus’ call on your life and how you are actually living?

How can we bring God’s great vision for humanity, His church and your own calling into alignment – defuse the tension?  Jesus said, “Whoever hears my words and puts them into practice is like a wise builder who builds on rock . . .”  Hearing Jesus and doing what he says is all about alignment.  I wonder how much tension would disappear if we relented to the convicting words of the Holy Spirit in our souls?  Hear and do.

If nothing else, I hope you recognize the tension.  Because it means your spirit is alive to the Spirit’s whisper that a better world is possible.  (But then comes faith and courage to CHANGE.) Which is what our stewardship series is about – changing how we think – to embrace God’s picture for humanity and our part on this planet and changing how we live – how we spend our time, our talents, our resources – to align with the better world God created for us.

It’s time for A Spending Change.  Let’s enCOURAGE change together – to change our world – and to change us. Come to worship on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 9:00 or 10:45 a.m. to join us in this movement!
