What to Expect

Everybody’s welcome!

The Easter Season, also known as Eastertide or the Great Fifty Days, begins on Easter Day!   Holy Week, the week starting on Palm Sunday and going until Easter focuses on Jesus’s resurrection and ascension and the sending of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost).  Did you know that Eastertide is the most joyous and celebrative season of the Christian year.   I know, you thought it was Christmas that was the most celebrated…and well for some, Christmas is a big season as well, but during Eastertide, we celebrate the good news that in Christ’s death and resurrection we, and all creation, are continually being made new by God’s love and saving grace.

When you walk in, you’ll find all types of people in our lobby and church.  There will be some music to start, followed by a message – the whole thing will last a little over an hour. If you ever have a question, find someone wearing a CommunityUMC nametag and they can help.

Have kids?

We love kids!   Bring ’em!  They can stay for service or you can sign them in for Sunday School.  Details are in the lobby when you get there.   Maundy Thursday Service and Good Friday Service will not have nursery or childcare available.  Youth group will not being meeting on Easter Sunday.
