Hello Church Family,
What a great first week in our Blessings Campaign as Pastor Erik led us through Sharing Ourselves. I know so many of you shared of your time and labor as you helped to make the service a possibility, worshipping in the fellowship hall. We handed out Blessings Bracelets at the end of the service to help you reflect on your blessings throughout the week, and how you can use those to bless others. If you did not receive a bracelet, please make sure to pick one up at the service this week as we have many colors and sizes available still.
This week in our Blessings Campaign we will consider the blessings that God has given us and and how we can bless others as we focus on our Faith and Finances. CUMC has been blessed with so many generous people as we continue to grow our staff to increase the programs here at CUMC, continue to serve our community both locally and more broadly, and continue the improvements in the sanctuary. We felt it important to share CUMC’s current budget for 2024 as well as a look at our historic budget over the past five years, to see where your blessings have gone and where they are planned to go this year. Please plan to attend our service this week (or view online) as we hear more about the church’s finances from our Finance Committee Chair, Mary Beth Holly.
This week, we will also be handing out our Blessing Commitment Cards for you to bring back on Commitment Sunday, which is planned for February 11, 2024. Please take this commitment card and pray and reflect on the blessings that you have been given and how God is calling you to continue to bless others in 2024. We will have a special time in the service on February 11th where we will bring our Blessing Commitment Cards forward and present them before the church and God.
Following the service on February 11th, you are all invited to the catered brunch celebrating the blessings you have been to CUMC in the past and the continued commitments that you make for the future. If you have not RSVPed already, please do so by Monday, February 5th so we have an idea of how much food to have prepared.
I look forward to seeing you all in church this Sunday as we continue exploring our blessings and how to bless others!
Your Blessings Campaign Chair,
Ben Falls
