Prison Ministry

“…I was in prison and you came to visit me” Matthew 25:36

In cooperation with the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, members of CUMC have been “going behind the walls” of the Jennifer Road Detention Facility since April 2006. Having it’s beginnings in providing a safe arena for female inmates to share their fears and frustrations, be prayed for, and discover that God loves them and wants to be in relationship with them, the CUMC ministry has expanded to include men’s Bible studies, one on one discipling, and visitation into the women’s infirmary unit.

Do you know that often behind the façade of angry resentment lies a fearful, hurt, dejected child of God just wanting someone to listen and care?

Do you know that the Good News Chaplains and the myriad spiritual services provided receive no monetary support other than donations?

Pray that God continues to prepare the hearts of men and women in jail to receive the life changing salvation that Jesus Christ offers and for yourself - how God may be calling on you.
